Frommer's Review
The Sole, divided between two buildings on a main road in town, has nondescript rooms -- all a bit worn around the edges from the occasional student stampede brought by study-abroad programs -- but the price is good and the location central. There's a smattering of antique-style bed frames and furniture on the tiled flooring, but most of the decor (in painted yellow metal or light wood) is functionally modern. The beds are lumpy and spread with shabby tan chenille bedspreads. The bathrooms are aging but in good shape. Although the rooms in the annex are serviced by an elevator, they don't have the odd 15th-century palazzo elements sometimes found in the main building. The magnificently stone-vaulted restaurant (closed in winter) serves tasty Umbrian fare.
