Frommer's Review
One of Atlanta's most opulent restaurants, City Grill is the place for downtown power-lunchers and couples celebrating a special occasion. The two-level restaurant is located in the lavishly refurbished Hurt Building, and you enter through a marble-walled rotunda with a rosette-and-gold-leaf-adorned dome. The setting is quite grand, but the atmosphere is more relaxed than you might expect, and the dress code accommodates everything from jeans to tuxes.
Chef Brent Highsmith specializes in regional American fare straight up with a twist, and primarily uses organic ingredients grown locally. Dishes range from a hickory-grilled, fig-stuffed lamb to a Cornish game hen with pecan-herb dressing. Offering the best wine list in town, City Grill's extensive cellar is stocked with more than 400 wines (most of them French and Californian) in all price ranges, with about 20 selections available by the glass. Pre-theater dining is available.
