Frommer's Review
This may not be the most authentic noodle house in the city, but it's a neighborhood standby that won't let you down if you're looking for a good, inexpensive meal. It's kid-friendly, too, and offers two children's meals (Chinese chicken soup or chicken, carrots, and broccoli over rice) that should please finicky little eaters. The rest of us have a lot to choose from: fragrant basil rolls, Chinese scallion pancakes, soup bowls, noodle bowls, rice bowls, and salads, each with a Thai, Chinese, Japanese, or Vietnamese accent. You can ask for most dishes to be prepared vegetarian-style. The decor is nothing fancy, but the patio is large and pleasant, the Asian beer is cold, and at these prices, there's not much to complain about.
There's another Doc Chey's in Emory Village near Emory University, 1556 N. Decatur Rd. (tel. 404/378-8188), open for lunch Monday through Saturday and dinner nightly.
