Frommer's Review
This blues and barbecue shack is a favorite among locals who like their ribs as smoky as their music. Don't expect much in the way of decor. This is truly a shack, where patrons order at the counter, then sit elbow-to-elbow at plastic tables while chowing down on pork ribs, barbecued chicken, and pulled-pork sandwiches. There are sides of coleslaw, baked beans, and Brunswick stew -- a Southern concoction that's a cross between a thick gravy and a thicker meat stew. Snack on an "appetizer" of peanuts in the shell, washed down with ice-cold beer, while waiting for your order.
Live music -- authentic blues by a variety of local and regional groups -- starts every night around 8pm. People pack into the small space, and it's usually standing room only, especially on weekends, so come early if you want to see the show.
