Frommer's Review
Pampering the modern business or leisure traveler is the goal of the helpful staff at this boutique hotel. Though it's 20 minutes away from the shopping, dining, and nightlife of the famed Buckhead area, the W Atlanta is conveniently located to attractions such as Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Minimalist and very chic, the W's signature is its "Whatever/Whenever" service -- and it provides just that. Where to dine in Buckhead? Any Braves tickets left for the game tonight? Ask and you shall receive -- anything -- just try it.
Guest rooms stand up well against the pricier Buckhead options; they feature sleek blond-wood furniture and chrome accents. Bathrooms are of average size. Visitors planning an extended stay might want to request a room with a full kitchen. Note: Perhaps the staff was in a partying mood during my visit, but the elevators were dark and noisy with loud, booming dance music. Corridors were also darkly lit.
Facilities:
2 restaurants; bar; outdoor pool; health club; sauna; concierge; business center; room service; in-room massage; laundry service

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
