Frommer's Review
The Alliance Theatre Company, under the direction of Kenny Leon, is the largest regional theater in the Southeast. The company produces about 10 plays a year on two different stages, and the season runs from September through June, with occasional productions during the summer as well. Many well-known actors have played these stages, among them Jane Alexander, Richard Dreyfuss, the late Esther Rolle, and Morgan Freeman. Recent seasons have included Dickens's A Christmas Carol (performed annually); Medea, starring Phylicia Rashad; and the world premiere of Elton John and Tim Rice's musical Aida. The Alliance Children's Theatre presents plays geared to youngsters from January to May. Tickets for children's productions are $13 for adults and $10 for children. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8pm. Most performances begin at 8pm.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
