Frommer's Review
Just across the street from Lenox Square is Phipps Plaza, Atlanta's most exclusive shopping venue and one of its prettiest as well, with spacious promenades and grand interior courts. Nordstrom, Parisian (a Birmingham, Alabama-based department store with a fantastic women's shoe department), and Saks Fifth Avenue anchor the mall's 100-plus shops and restaurants. The exclusive Ritz-Carlton Buckhead hotel is just a few steps away.
Phipps Plaza's posh emporia (many of them area exclusives) include A/X Armani Exchange, Barneys New York CO-OP, Cole Haan, Elie Tahari, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Intermix, Jeffrey Atlanta, Juicy Couture, Max Mara, Niketown, Origins, Ross-Simons (for jewelry, china, and silver), Talbots, Theory, Tiffany & Co., and Tory Burch. You'll also find chic boutiques selling ladies' and men's apparel, luggage, jewelry, home furnishings, and specialty gifts.
Services include valet parking ($3) and a free shuttle to Lenox Square at the Lenox Road entrance. There are several restaurants, including the Tavern at Phipps, which has a pleasant, clubby atmosphere. Also on the premises: a food court and a 14-screen movie theater. Stores are open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 9pm, Sunday from noon to 5:30pm.
