Frommer's Review
Like the DeKalb Farmers' Market, this megamarket must be seen to be believed. An Atlanta icon since 1987, Harry's features mountains of fresh produce, incredible selections of cheese, seafood, meats, gourmet items, wines, and beers, plus more exotica than you can imagine. While DeKalb attracts a more international clientele (although the selection of goods is not necessarily more international in scope), Harry's is a bit more upscale and polished, and attracts many suburbanites, probably because of its locations. DeKalb has a wider variety of organic foods and produce, while Harry's does better at baked goods, prepared foods, and cheeses. Saturday and Sunday are crowded at all markets, but the bustle seems to add to the fun if you don't have to do any serious shopping.
Open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 9pm, Sunday from 9am to 8pm. There are two other Harry's locations: 2025 Satellite Blvd., Duluth (tel. 770/416-6900), and 70 Powers Ferry Rd., Marietta (tel. 770/578-4400).
