Octane may be the most celebrated local coffeehouse in Atlanta, but it's also a great nightlife option for those who don't like things to get too rowdy. With its high ceilings, industrial light fixtures, and concrete floors, the Westside location has a cool, hip vibe going for it. The coffee is high quality, prepared via Chemex or French press. You can choose specialty drinks like the Carmelatto, if you like your caffeine with a side of sweet, or add one of the house-made syrups (chocolate, vanilla, caramel) to your order. Octane also offers Italian sodas, teas, assorted baked goods from Holeman & Finch, and Sublime doughnuts, as well as salads, sandwiches, and small plates. There will be music playing somewhat loudly in the shop all day long; at nighttime there's also a live band, musician, or DJ. Some great craft brews can be found on tap, which are featured on $3 Thursdays, and Hop City beer tastings are held on many Wednesdays. This is the original Octane; there's also a Grant Park outpost at 427 Memorial Dr.
