Frommer's Review
Plenty of places purport to be rural oases in an urban desert. In the case of this self-proclaimed "country inn in the city," the boast is justified (or, as they say in Texas, "It ain't braggin' if it's true"). Occupying a verdant acre on a rise at the end of a quiet street near the University of Texas, this 1877 house exudes country charm. But that doesn't mean it's lacking citified amenities. The antiques-filled rooms -- five in the main house, three in a 1920 cottage across the street -- keep business as well as leisure travelers happy. Both houses offer access to full kitchens, including refrigerators stocked with Bluebell ice cream -- and porches where you can sit out with a bowl of it.
