This downtown bar is a great setting for listening to jazz -- a cozy, softly lit chamber in the basement of one of Congress Avenue's old buildings. You have to be purposeful to get here because the Elephant Room entrance is a small door with a tiny sign, and the club isn't on Sixth or in the Warehouse District. The club lines up first-class acts, mostly contemporary jazz. The best night to go is on a weeknight when the bar is less crowded.
