Frommer's Review
A terrific sound system and a casual country atmosphere have helped make this one of Austin's hottest venues, although it rarely hosts local bands anymore. Since it opened in the early 1990s, the Allman Brothers, Joan Baez, Chicago, Elvis Costello, Norah Jones, k.d. lang, Lyle Lovett, Bonnie Raitt, and Brian Wilson have all played the terraced outdoor amphitheater, which is shaded by ancient live oaks. You can come early for dinner to the Waterloo Ice House, which serves a Texas menu, including barbecue from The Iron Works. The food's all good and reasonably priced.
