Housed in the 15th-century birthplace of Nicolas Rolin, founder of the Hospices de Beaune, this museum has a rich collection of artifacts from the Gallo-Roman era to the Middle Ages, as well as French and European paintings from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Highlights include mosaics from ancient Augustodunum; the 15th-century polychrome Autun virgin, and paintings by Maurice Denis and Joan Miró. The building is as equally impressive as the collection.
