Special Events -- Avellino is famous for its Carnevale Irpino, the festival organized for the celebration of Carnival which includes traditional performances, the most famous of which is Zeza. Taking its name from the wife of Pulcinella, this musical farce narrates the adventures of the family when their daughter Porzia decides to get married to Don Zenobio.
