Frommer's Review
On the seafront at the edge of Ayr's Low Green, this Victorian mansion/country home was restored and converted into a 4-star hotel. The staff is attentive and, like the Abbotsford above, will help you arrange tee times at nearby golf courses. Rooms in the main building are decorated in a country-house style, while a newer wing offers more modern decor. The units are generally large and luxurious; some of the bathrooms have bidets. The hotel's Martins Bar and Grill was named best informal dining restaurant in 2006 by the Scottish hotel awards.
