Though Baden-Baden has many fine restaurants dispensing haute cuisine, this isn't one of them -- the food here is simple and affordable. The terrace is beneath a copse of clipped and pruned linden trees, and the indoor dining room, with its curved glass walls, is up a flight of stone steps at the rear. Many kinds of German sausage are offered, along with Bavarian specialties such as roast pork in a beer sauce. Regional devotees order pork knuckles fresh from the "pork-knuckle grill." Regulars often ask for the "Löwenbräu platter of bites," which is a hearty plate with everything from black pudding to sliced pork. For dessert, we suggest the apple fritters. The restaurant also has a popular beer garden.
