Frommer's Review
A Baden-Baden landmark, this famed traditional hotel isn't quite as highly rated as Brenner's , but it's neck and neck with its sibling, the Europäischer Hof . Badischer Hof is on a busy street in the center of town, but in the back you'll find an elegant garden with a wide balustraded terrace, flowerbeds, and a lawn around a stone fountain. The hotel began its career in 1809 as a social center for famous personalities, who came here for "the season." The four-story-high colonnaded hallway, with its great staircase and encircling balustraded balconies, is the hotel's most distinguishing feature. The well-furnished rooms are priced according to size and view. Many have private balconies, and all have bathrooms with tub/shower combos. Each is elegantly appointed with tasteful fabrics and comfortable beds. Those in the monastery have thermal water piped into the bathrooms.
Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; lounge; 3 heated pools (1 outdoor and 2 indoor); health club; Jacuzzi; sauna; solarium; salon; room service; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
