For your big night on the town, take a taxi from Bad Hofgastein to Badgastein to gamble at the casino . In Bad Hofgastein, you can go clubbing, sit in a tavern beside an open fire, or dance to the music of a live band at one of the hotels in the winter season. The tourist office will give you the latest information on which hotels or clubs are likely to have nightlife at any given time.

One of Bad Hofgastein's busiest nightspots is the Norica Bar, just off the lobby of the Hotel Norica, Kaiser-Franz-Platz 3 (tel. 06432/8391-0). Open every day from 5pm until 2am, it offers some kind of music act, from evergreen oompah to rock 'n' roll, in both winter and summer. There's no cover charge, and beer costs 3€ to 5€ ($4.80-$8). Closing time varies, depending on business.
