The Harbor Court is a long-time favorite with well-heeled visitors and bridal parties with its stately classic elegance and attentive service. Opened as an independent hotel in 1986, it became a Royal Sonesta property in late 2012. The lobby is entrancing with its elegant staircase, chandelier, and traditional furnishings. The staff is warm and accommodating. The bones of this property are well-conceived (we love how spacious the guest rooms are), though the soft goods look a little worn in some of the rooms. That being said, the digs tend to be quite comfortable with Georgian-style furniture and embellishments (plenty of gilt and brass, and luxurious wall coverings). Suites are impressively large and feature gigantic four-poster beds and pink marble baths. The one-bedroom corner suites have two windows, parlor, and dining area. You're not guaranteed a harbor view if you stay here, as only 50 rooms face the water, so ask if that's important to you.
