Planning a TripGetting There By Train -- The Bamberg Bahnhof is on the Stuttgart-Hof and the Berlin-Munich rail lines, with frequent connections in both directions. Most visitors arrive from Nürnberg in just 1 hour. There are direct trains running from Bayreuth to Bamberg. For information and schedules, call tel. 01805/996633. By Car -- Access is via the B22 from Würzburg or the A73 from Nürnberg. Visitor Information Contact the Bamberg Tourist Information Office, Geyerswöthstrasse 3 (tel. 0951/2976200; www.bamberg.info). Office hours are April to December Monday to Friday 9:30am to 6pm, Saturday 9:30am to 2:30pm, and Sunday 9:30am to 2:30pm. Getting Around A well-run network of buses fans out from the Zentralomnibusbahnhof on Promenadestrasse, next to the railway station. A single ride for Zone 1 costs 1.20€ ($1.90); a single ride for Zone 1 and 2 goes for 2.10€ ($3.40).
