Frommer's Review
The Rimrock is a Banff classic; removed from town and set into a gorgeous mountain slope, the Rimrock is all about the view of the Bow Valley, which spreads in every direction around and below it. Nearly every room has a commanding view of the stunning landscape, but the lounge -- with its towering ceilings and windows that run all the way from ceiling to floor -- is an extraordinary place from which to drink it all in, especially given the huge fireplace that anchors the room in the center. Everything about it suggests understated opulence, from its unpolished marble floors to the traditional -- though still plump and comfortable -- sofas and chairs and excellent service. Good-sized rooms are priced according to the view; suites offer room to roam, and have wet bars and balconies. There are early booking specials if you're able to book in February or March for a summer stay (after June 1). In the winter, there's also an outdoor ice rink with a fire pit. Hot chocolate and cider are served during the winter at the rink.
