The Caribou, with its gabled green roof, outdoor patio, bay windows, and wooden balconies, has a Western-lodge look that blends well with the alpine landscape. The interior is equally impressive, especially the vast lobby with slate-tile floor, peeled-log woodwork, and huge stone fireplace. The finely furnished bedrooms continue the Western theme with rustic pine chairs and beds decked out with snug down comforters. The bathrooms are spacious; some of the rooms have balconies. The lodge is long on service and friendliness. The Keg is a local favorite for steaks. A free shuttle bus ferries guests to destinations throughout Banff.
