A lovely, homey spot for those who don't mind mingling with friendly owners and other guests, this B&B started life as a tourist lodge in the '40s before being converted to a private home; it was restored and turned back into a guest house in the '80s. The hosts, Lynne and Ecki, have been working in the Banff tourist sector for years, and understand that quality service and value for the dollar is what brings people back in hyper-competitive Banff. Their rooms are comfortable, historical, and perfectly maintained; the lounge area, with its big Rundlestone fireplace (that is, stones culled from the ever-crumbling Mount Rundle) feels much more like a comfortable living room than a public lounge. Breakfast is a full-cooked meal with homemade baked goods. Downtown Banff is just a two-minute walk away.
