Located up on Tunnel Mountain, a 5-minute drive from downtown Banff, is a collection of well-traveled condo developments. There's a good reason that these properties are popular -- they are out of the busy center of town, and they offer large units that can accommodate families and groups. One of these, Hidden Ridge Resort, is undergoing a major renovation and general spiffing up and offers some excellent deals for travelers who want self-catering accommodations. Condos range from king one-bedroom units to two-bedroom condos with lofts that comfortably sleep eight -- even before opening out the sofa bed. All units have full maplewood kitchens with granite counters, stone fireplace, dining area, living room, and balcony or patio. Added features include a giant outdoor hot tub, a covered barbecue area, and incredible views onto Mount Rundle.
