Thanks to a relatively hidden location down Sukhumvit Soi 1, but not so hard a cabbie will never find it, Ariyasom Villa flies relatively under the radar. A prominent engineer built the home between 1941 and 1942, and today his landscape architect granddaughter and her architect husband look after the place. With ownership pedigrees like that, it comes as no surprise this place is a manicured gem with lush gardens, a small pool, meditation space, and one of the top vegetarian restaurants in town. Rooms have teak wood flooring, sofas, Thai silk curtains, and comfortable beds. The name translates to the sanctuary of the enlightened, which is exactly what you’ll be after just a night or two here.
