Frommer's Review
This hotel, totally rebuilt in 1996, lies on the prettiest beach on the south coast, only 10 minutes from the airport, with Bridgetown about 3km (2 miles) to the west.
In a West Indian "megastyle," the three-story property is tastefully laid out, and offers spacious rooms opening onto a view of the pool or ocean. The units have large balconies and wooden shutters, plus full-size bathrooms with showers and tubs. The look is a bit sterile, more corporate hotel than island escape. Steer clear of units marked "island view," as the panorama is of the parking lot. The variety in dining is particularly noteworthy, ranging from The Fig Tree's pizzas in a garden setting to Wytukai, the only Polynesian restaurant on island. A barbecue and floor show on every Thursday is a highlight. Note: Much of the hotel is open air (including a dance floor), and the mosquitoes appreciate that fact.
Facilities: 3 restaurants; 2 bars (1 swim-up); outdoor pool; nearby golf; fitness center; squash court; snorkeling; car rental; business center; room service; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; rooms for those w/limited mobility; open-air dance floor
