Getting There -- The island is a 15-minute flight from Antigua's Byrd Airport. Barbuda has two airfields: one at Codrington and the other a private facility, the Coco Point Airstrip, which is some 13km (8 miles) from Codrington at the Coco Point Lodge.
To reach Barbuda from Antigua, you can contact Carib Aviation (tel. 268/462-3147), a carrier which in virtually every other instance operates strictly as a charter carrier without a regular schedule. Insofar as flights to Barbuda are concerned, however, it offers two daily flights from Antigua's Bird Airport to Barbuda's Codrington Airport. Planes hold 19 passengers each for a ride that takes between 15 and 20 minutes one-way. Round-trip passage costs from EC$190 (US$70/£35) per person, depending on restrictions.
Getting Around -- Many locals rent small four-wheel-drive Suzukis, which are the best way to get around the island. They meet incoming flights at Codrington Airport, and prices are negotiable. You'll need an Antiguan driver's license if you plan to drive.
