Barcelona has two types of tourist offices. The Catalunya regional office deals with Spain in general and Catalunya in particular, with basic information about Barcelona. It has two locations at the El Prat airport (Terminal 1: tel. 93-478-47-04; Terminal 2: tel. 93-478-05-65), both in the Arrivals hall after you pass Customs. Hours are daily 8:30am to 10pm. These offices are co-managed with Turisme de Barcelona (see below). Another large office in the center of Barcelona at the Palau de Robert, Passeig de Gràcia, 107 (www.gencat.net; tel. 93-238-80-91), is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 8pm, Sunday and holidays 9am to 2:30pm.

The Oficina de Informació de Turisme de Barcelona, Plaça de Catalunya, 17-S (www.barcelonaturisme.com; tel. 93-285-38-34), also offers deals exclusively with the city of Barcelona. The main office is underground on the southeast corner of tfhe plaza. In addition to getting detailed information about the city, you can purchase the Barcelona Card or tickets for the Barcelona Bus Turístic here. In the same space you’ll also find the FC Barcelona shop, which sells football match tickets along with all the souvenirs imaginable, and an information desk for the Ruta de Modernisme. The office is open daily 9am to 10pm, Sunday until 2pm.

Websites

You can find lots of great information at the following sites: Tourist Office of Spain (www.spain.info), All About Spain (www.red2000.com), and CyberSp@in (www.cyberspain.com).

Find Catalonia-specific information online at www.barcelonaturisme.com, www.hotel-barcelona.com/tours.html, and www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com. The official site of city hall, www.bcn.es, is useful for details such as opening times and upcoming events written in English. The local English-language magazine Barcelona Metropolitan (www.barcelona-metropolitan.com) is aimed mainly at expats, but will appeal to the visitor who wants more of an insider look at the city. For one-stop tour, hotel, and activity booking try www.barcelona.com. If you want to pre-book train tickets, www.renfe.com is the official site of Spain's rail network.
