Santiago's two hotels are side by side on the beach and estuary, so you definitely don't need a car to get around (nor are there local buses). A small, impoverished village with a couple of tiny tiendas is about a 10-minute walk or short drive east along the main road from the hotels.

Visitor Information

Both of Santiago's hotels offer small restaurants, but bring everything else you'll need, as the area has no banks, pharmacies, or large stores. There's no official tourist office in town, but the folks at Capricho Beach House or La Cocotera can arrange tours in the area and provide info, or you can check with guide Julio Caesar Aviles.
