Brauerei Fischerstube ReviewNo one comes to this restaurant expecting a mind-boggling culinary experience. People visit because they want to drink one of the fresh-brewed local lagers and ales. Order the house ale, named Ueli Bier after a Fasnacht clown, and you'll be expected to drink every drop of the mammoth 5-liter serving you're given. If you'd rather drink at a slower pace in the comfort of your own hotel room, the brewers also sell 15-liter kegs. The food here isn't anything special. Expect such hearty fare -- good with beer -- as regional sausages and a big serving of rump steak. This is one of the most fun spots in Basel for devotees of the brew.
