Bonotto Hotel Belvedere Review

It looks modern out front, but this has been Bassano's premier hotel since the 15th century. The Belvedere sits on the busy main road skirting the walls of the historic center, 4 blocks from the central Piazza Garibaldi, but the windows' double set of double panes cuts out most noise. Standard rooms in the 1985 wing have modular '80s-style units in baby blue or wood veneer and mirrors to make the midsize rooms feel larger. Superior accommodations are larger, with sturdy dark-wood furnishings and Jacuzzi tubs. Junior suites are spruced up with 17th- and 18th-century Venetian-style antiques and double sinks, though some are done in a modern but still classy style, with embroidered sofas.

Should the Belvedere be full, they may put you up in their modern, 66-room Hotel Palladio, around the corner at Via Gramsci 2 (tel. 0424-523-777; fax 0424-524-050). There a double runs from 138€ to 160€.

Facilities:
Excellent Veneta restaurant; bar; babysitting; free bikes; concierge; discount at golf course in nearby Asolo; exercise room and sauna at sister Hotel Palladio around the corner; room service; smoke-free rooms

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
