This is one of the most sophisticated little restaurants in Bath. Head Chef Marc Salmon uses the best local produce, with an emphasis on freshness. The menu is changed to reflect the season, with game and fish being the specialties. You might begin with a tomato tarte tatin with goat cheese fritters and pesto or else pan-fried scallops with chorizo oil and a pumpkin and vanilla puree. Then you could proceed to such mains as pan-fried Cornish sea bass with creamed wild mushrooms or else roast rump of West Country lamb and sweetbreads with braised lentils. The chefs are known for their desserts, including apple and blackberry charlotte with a butterscotch parfait as well as dark chocolate pannacotta with vanilla ice cream.
