Frommer's Review
The house and accompanying estate date from the 14th century and once served as the baronial seat in Castle Combe. The main building and its accompanying cottages sit regally on 19 hectares (47 acres) of gardens with wooded trails and a lake. The trout-stocked River Bybrook flows south of the manor, and fishing is permitted. Bedrooms come in a variety of sizes, and some have four-poster beds. You can stay either in the main house or in a row of original stone cottages on the grounds. The latter have been upgraded to meet the standards of the main house. Eight rooms are large enough for families. Bathrooms are superbly kept, each with a tub and shower or just a shower.
