Kerry Centre Hotel (Beijing Jiali Zhongxin Fandian) ReviewLike its sister hotel, the China World, the Kerry Centre is showing signs of age, especially compared to the newer players in town. Still, it's well-regarded for its service and remains a popular choice with business travelers. Standard rooms are decorated in textured, solid colors of gold and dark green, with maroon accent pillows. Bathrooms are small and rather awkwardly laid out, with tubs jammed into the corner and toilets tucked behind the door. Executive floors have far roomier bathrooms and added luxuries like free Internet (broadband or Wi-Fi), Bose CD players, huge plasma TVs, and DVD players. They also have a great health club, including a spacious gym with the latest equipment, a 35m (115-ft.) indoor lap pool and two Jacuzzis, two indoor tennis courts, and even a short outdoor jogging path. Their restaurant Horizon is popular for its scrumptious ¥168 dim sum lunch buffet for two, and Centro has been a long-running favorite watering hole for expatriates. Facilities: 2 restaurants; bar; concierge; executive-level rooms; indoor basketball/tennis/badminton courts; fitness center; forex; children's play area; indoor pool; roof-top track for running and in-line skating; room service; smoke-free floors; sun deck Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
