Frommer's Review
Located on 1,100 acres at the end of a long sandy spit that reaches almost to Canada, Semiahmoo Resort is, despite the remote location, Washington's premier golf resort and health spa. Gables and gray shingles give the resort a timeless look, and throughout the classically styled interior of the main lodge are numerous lounges overlooking the water. Artwork abounds, with Native American and nautical themes prevailing. Not all guest rooms have views, but those that do have beds facing out to sea. The main dining room overlooks the water and offers excellent Northwest-style meals and an extensive wine list. There's also an oyster bar and lounge in an old salmon-packing plant. In addition to amenities listed below, the resort has a marina and paved bike and running paths.
Facilities: 4 restaurants (Northwest, American); lounge; indoor and outdoor pool; 2 18-hole golf courses; 4 tennis courts; health club and exercise room; full-service spa; Jacuzzi; sauna; kayak rentals; bike rentals; business center; room service; massage; laundry service; dry cleaning

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
