Frommer's Review
Diner aficionados make pilgrimages to enjoy the ambience of this 1945 Silk City classic -- so classic that the blue-plate dinner specials might also include vegetables, rice, soup or salad, rolls, and rice pudding for one price. A bit incongruously, fancier and vegetarian fare is also available, such as a grilled portobello on sourdough. But that's not why you're here. You come here for reliable New England diner staples such as turkey with gravy, fried haddock, slabs of cornbread French toast, great omelets, fruity pancakes, homemade doughnuts, and a signature butterscotch Indian pudding served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
