A former sugar plantation house has been turned into an intimate Caribbean inn, the most romantic spot on Bequia. Cooled by constantly blowing trade winds, it stands on a clifftop. Stay here more for the panoramic view, not for the beach, which is reached by going down a steep path for about 150m (500 ft.). Once you get there the ocean is too turbulent for swimming. The grounds around the inn are ideal for nature walks through meadows to seaside cliffs. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with seaview balconies, some overlooking an open-air pool and club. Our favorite is the Top Tower Room, with stone walls and vaulted ceilings.
