The island's hottest restaurant, Mediterraneo, is a chic dining enclave and fashionable meeting place for those who enjoy fine food and wine. Franco Caparra is the mastermind behind this eatery, where flavor is paramount, and chefs take inspiration from Italy, the Middle East, the Greek Islands, and everything in between. Winning appetizers include a chilled Andalusian gazpacho or baked scallops with apple-wood smoked bacon. Our favorite pasta is linguine with an array of shellfish simmered in white wine and fresh parsley. Also try the seared duck breast with apple, Cointreau, and foie gras. The atmosphere is inviting -- golden yellow walls, wooden furniture, and blue accents -- and the upstairs outdoor dining area is a prized setting for a tasty meal.
