Frommer's Review
This restaurant's success is proof of Bermuda's appreciation of well-prepared, exotic food and its flair for drama. It's the best venue on the island for the savory, sometimes spicy food of the Middle East, with a decor that evokes Arabian nights. That includes elaborately carved doors and window screens imported from the souks of Egypt, a valuable collection of early-19th-century antiques hauled in from Cairo, copper tables whose reflective surfaces are mirrors, and the kind of diffused lighting that seems to well up from behind the chairs, tables, and chests. Enjoy beer from Egypt or wine from Lebanon as accompaniments for good-tasting food such as grilled shrimp salads; whole red snapper prepared with Moroccan spices; tagines loaded with savory chunks of marinated lamb; harira soup; vegetable or lamb-stocked versions of couscous; baba ghanoush and hummus; and shish kebabs that are cooked on charcoal braziers placed directly on your table. There might occasionally be entertainment from one or a trio of Middle Eastern dancers, each veiled, charming, and evocative of the harem of a desert lord.
