Frommer's Review
A short hop across the Connecticut River from Littleton is the lost-in-time Vermont village of Lower Waterford, with its 1859 church and tiny library. Amid this cluster of buildings is the Rabbit Hill Inn, constructed in 1795. With prominent gabled roof and imposing columns, this romantic retreat ranks among the most refined structures in the Connecticut River Valley. More than half of the rooms have gas fireplaces, and several feature Jacuzzis. Rates include breakfast and dinner in the dining room, where proper attire is expected (jacket and tie are "appropriate"). The inn is halfway between Littleton and St. Johnsbury, Vermont, enabling guests to explore both states.
