The Swan ReviewWell managed, upscale, and discreet, this hotel and restaurant is the finest in the village. It originated as a riverside cottage in the 1300s, but was greatly expanded through the centuries. Much of the interior is outfitted in a traditional, warm-toned design evocative of a discreetly upscale stately home, with tartan-patterned and flowered fabrics, and autumn-inspired colors. The bedrooms are outfitted with antique furniture and an individualized decor. Each contains an elegant bed -- some are four-posters -- with soft linens. There are three modern and luxurious suites located a short walk from the main building, each with its own landscaped garden and containing such extras as an iPod/MP3 docking station.
