The grandest and the best dining in the Greater Birmingham area lies a mile south of the city center in the district of Edgbaston. Here in an impressive Georgian mansion, a modern British cuisine is served in an L-shaped dining room set around terraces. Many diners prefer the conservatory with views of the garden. The menu is modern British, but with heavy French overtones. The produce is purchased fresh every day, using only the finest of seasonal produce.

Specialties are forever changing, but starters might include Salcombe crabmeat with Severn & Wye salmon accompanied by an avocado mousse, or else seared hand-dived Ross-shire scallops with Indian spices and a caramelized cauliflower risotto. Move on to such mains as line-caught sea bass with a wild mushroom tart, perhaps a pavé of Aberdeenshire beef with slow-cooked ox cheek flavored with grain mustard.
