Filled with Victorian antiques, this charming choice features two highly rated restaurants, a tavern, and plenty of business amenities, all set within a classic 19th-century country-house hotel 8km (5 miles) from New Street Station in City Centre. Jonathans' derives its name from its two owners, each of whom is named Jonathan (one cooks and the other attends to guests). Visitors enjoy a sojourn back to the 1880s, right down to the mock Victorian street and the secret boardroom tucked behind a book-lined dining-room wall. The bedrooms -- all suites -- are spacious. Each is furnished individually with antiques and quaint Victoriana. Some rooms have four-poster beds and some have fireplaces. Bathrooms feature thick towels and mostly tub/shower combinations.
