Planning a Trip

Getting There

Two trains from Manchester arrive every hour (trip time: 1 1/2 hr.), and one every 2 hours from Liverpool (trip time: 1 1/2 hr.). For information, call tel. 0845/748-4950 or visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.

National Express buses arrive from Chester at the rate of three per day (trip time: 4 hr.); from Liverpool at the rate of six per day (trip time: 3 1/2 hr.); from Manchester, five per day (trip time: 2 hr.); and from London, six per day (trip time: 6 1/2 hr.). If you're driving from Manchester, take the M61 north to the M6 then the M55 toward Blackpool. The trip takes about 1 hour.

Visitor Information

The helpful Tourist Office, located at 1 Clifton St. (tel. 01253/478222; www.blackpooltourism.com), is open November to March Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm; April to October, it's Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
