With hundreds of painted oars adorning the walls and ceilings, lots of locals and boaters, and a festive ambience no matter what time of day, the Oar is a fun New Harbor spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner—or one of their famous mudslides. Part of the fun of dining here is trying to translate all the messages scrawled on the many oars that are tacked to the ceilings and walls here (some are a bit obscure). As for the food: think pub grub. Not outsanding, but just fine.
