This is the larger and better-accessorized of Strömstad's two hotels, with a policy of remaining open year-round. Built in 1994, it parallels the shoreline of a small peninsula that juts seaward from the center of town, and is flanked by a busy marina. Low and sprawling, the hotel has a streamlined, modern decor and comfortable bedrooms that, although monochromatic, are well maintained and cozy, with well-kept little bathrooms equipped with tubs/shower combinations. Public areas have big windows, touches of varnished paneling, and a sense of spaciousness. There's no pool or health club on the premises, although the staff will direct you to nearby facilities. There is, however, a big dining room serving good regional food (lots of fish), a disco, and an indoor-outdoor restaurant that operates only between June and early September.
