This has become one of our favorite personality inns of Bologna, its design evoking the Continent back in the prewar 1930s, the heyday of elegant travel. Although it turns to the past for its inspiration, it is completely up-to-date in its amenities. Ideal for a romantic weekend, the inn lies in the very heart of Bologna. The building itself is in the so-called Viennese Secession style, taking inspiration from flower motifs and the works of the painter Gustav Klimt. Each of the midsize bedrooms is decorated in an individual style. Regardless of your room assignment, you can count on a great bed and a beautiful bathroom -- you even get a personal bathrobe. The hotel's breakfast is the best in town.
