On the edge of the historic district, near the Church of San Domenico and Piazza Maggiore, Touring is a refurbished 1955 hotel offering comfort at an affordable price. Bedrooms are midsize and tastefully appointed, with shiny wood furnishings and faux-marble ceramic flooring. Bathrooms are tiled in white with deep sinks -- sometimes a double sink -- as well as roomy shower stalls and gilt-framed mirrors. Try for accommodations on the third or fourth floor where your room will often come with a balcony. The hotel's best feature is a roof terrace opening onto panoramic vistas of the centro storico (central historic district).
