Conceived by one of the largest land developers in Venezuela, this exclusive complex, the most stylish on the island, is designed like an Iberian village, opening onto a sandy beach. It's upscale and well managed, offering services and resort amenities to well-heeled divers who don't want the more laid-back atmosphere of Captain Don's Habitat . Accommodations are in a cluster of Dutch Caribbean-style villas painted in pastels, with red-tile roofs and terraced balconies. Guest rooms have tropical decor, four-poster beds, white-tile floors, natural-wood furniture, island-style ceiling fans as well as air-conditioning, and marble bathrooms, with deluxe toiletries, shower stalls, and robes.

A wide array of very good food awaits you. Our favorite restaurant is La Balandra Beach Bar and Restaurant, a gazebo-like structure set beside a massive pier; an octagonal bar area flanked by an open grill and salad bar is open to the sea view and breezes. The marina-front Lighthouse Restaurant at Harbour Village serves seafood specialties in a cozy nautical decor.
