Em Höttche ReviewEm Höttche enjoys a long and colorful history, going all the way back to 1389. It's fed thousands over the centuries with its rib-sticking fare -- perhaps changing the recipes every 100 years or so. The interior has been restored, with carved-wood paneling, natural brick, old beamed ceilings, decoratively painted plaster, and curlicue chandeliers. Favorite dining spots are tables set inside the walk-in fireplace. On the a la carte list, you'll find specialties for two, including entrecôte. Fresh salmon is often available. Complement your meal with a carafe of local wine -- the best buy in the house. However, the drink of choice for most visitors is Kölsch, a famous Rhineland beer for which the establishment is well known.
